LinkedIn Newsletter

A long-form publishing feature on LinkedIn that lets creators publish recurring articles, and that auto-notifies subscribers by email and in-app notification each time a new issue ships.

A LinkedIn Newsletter is a recurring long-form publication you can create from your profile or company page. Each issue is a full LinkedIn article (rich text, images, embeds) with a fixed cadence (weekly, biweekly, monthly) and a subscribe button that sends every new issue to subscribers via email and in-app notification.

The distribution advantage is the reason creators use it. Unlike a regular post that only reaches a fraction of your followers, a newsletter issue is pushed to every subscriber's inbox and notification tray. Open rates compare favorably to typical email newsletter benchmarks (often 30-50% on LinkedIn versus 20-25% on email platforms) because the notification lives inside an app users already check daily.

To create one, you need access to creator mode and a clean publishing history. Click "Write article" from your home page, then choose to publish it as a newsletter. You pick a title, cadence, and cover art. After that, every new issue prompts subscribers automatically.

The format favors substantive content: tutorials, deep analyses, case studies, founder updates. Short-form punchy posts work better as regular feed posts. A useful pairing is to publish a short teaser post the same day a newsletter drops, linking to the full issue.

Newsletters do not export subscriber emails. You don't own the list the way you would with Substack or ConvertKit, which is the main trade-off. The reach and discovery are great; the portability is zero.
